UCT DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT AFFAIRS IS SEEKING FOR THREE (3) PYSCHOLOGISTS FOR PERMANENT APPOINTMENT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
The Department of Student Affairs, through its Student Wellness Service (SWS) at UCT, is seeking a qualified person for the post of permanent psychologist for appointment as soon as possible. The post reports to the Principal Psychologist, Student Wellness Service and is located within one of the campuses of UCT in a Faculty (e.g. Health Sciences, Science, Law and Commerce Faculty). As a successful candidate you will provide psychological services i.e. assess, intervene, and manage students’ diverse psychological concerns.
The functions include, brief assessment consultations, psychotherapy, psychoeducation and supporting mental health promotion drives. The incumbent will also be responsible for delivering short term clinical and psychoeducational interventions within a student-centered, multidisciplinary, primary mental health care service as a division within the Student Wellness Service. The psychologist is required to work in accordance with the regulations of the professional Board of Psychology and Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), as well as to promote the institutional and departmental mission and values within the Division and the SWS.
