Job Description
Futuregrowth Asset Management (Old Mutual) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join its team. You will be responsible for managing and preparing financial transactions, analysing data and preparing financial reports. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Purpose
The accountant role is a dynamic one with a multitude of responsibilities within the Finance team and includes future growth potential.
Key Tasks
- Preparing and maintaining financial records and documents accurately and timeously;
- Responsibility for accounting processes and tasks (payments/fees/general ledger/account reconciliations);
- Co-ordinating and liaising with internal parties to support intercompany activities;
- Monitoring and analysing financial data to identify discrepancies;
- Preparing/assisting with the preparation of financial and departmental
- reports/budgets/annual financial statements;
- Assisting with the preparation of company taxes; and
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines affecting the finances of the company.

Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with Post Graduate Diploma or Honours in Accounting or similar; and;
- Completed articles or with at least 3-5 years’ work experience in a similar role in the financial sector.
Skills and Know-How
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and accounting principles and practices; and
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, and an advantage if able to work with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Great Plains.
