Assmang Black Rock Mine Operations in partnership with Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality Invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for a Bursary Opportunity:

The opportunity provides bursaries to five (5) students for full time study at accredited South African Universities or Universities of Technology.

FULL TIME BURSARY STUDY

Bursaries are available preferably in one of the following fields of study:

  • B Com In Accounting/Economics/Law/Human Resources/Business Management
  • BA in Public Admin/Journalism/Communication/Industrial and Organizational Psychology
  • Bachelor of Social Science/Social Work
  • Bachelor in Education
  • LLB
  • BSC Actuarial Science
  • BSc Engineering/Geology/Quantity Survey/ Agriculture/Architecture/Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy
  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • MBChB
  • Town and Regional Planning

WHO CAN APPLY?

  • Applicant must be a citizen of South Africa in terms of the South African Citizen Act, No 88 of 1995 and reside within the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality
  • Matric Scholars who meet minimum requirements
  • Students must be between the age of 18 years and 35 years
  • Students who are currently in their 14, 2 or final year of their study
  • Students who currently do not have a bursary or student loan
  • Students that are historically disadvantaged and financially in need

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Grade 12 academic achievements with both Mathematics and Physical Science at level 5 or above within The Science Field
  • 60% average Grade 12 academic achievements for other fields of study
  • No Bursaries will be granted to existing students who are not promoted to next year level of study Applications from designated groups will be given preference Le. (Historically Disadvantaged)
  • Consideration will be given to applicants that meet the means test requirements

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED

  • Proof of acceptance by the University for 2025 year of study
  • Certified copy of ID document
  • An Affidavit confirming certified copies of parent’s proof of income/social or pension grant
  • Certified copy of Grade 2 results
  • Certified copy of full academic record (for students already studying at University or University of Technology)
  • Proof of admission from tertiary institution: University or University of Technology
  • Proof of residence
