Basic Education (DBE) Internship Programme 2025

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has officially opened applications for its Internship Programme 2025, offering young South Africans the chance to gain valuable workplace experience and professional skills. This programme is designed for unemployed graduates and matriculants, providing them with exposure in various fields that support South Africa’s education and administrative systems.

Purpose of the DBE Internship Programme

The DBE Internship Programme aims to bridge the gap between academic study and employment readiness. Successful applicants will be placed within the Department of Basic Education, where they will receive practical training, mentoring, and insight into the daily operations of South Africa’s education sector. The programme also enhances employability by equipping interns with hands-on experience that aligns with national development priorities.

Internship Details

Posts Available: Internship Programme (Ref No: DBE/01/2025)
Contract Period: Fixed 24 months
Stipend:

  • Graduate Internship: R7 860.39
  • National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent: R5 639.64
    Location: Department of Basic Education, Pretoria
