CIPC Information Technology Internship 2025 / 2026

Introduction

The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), a member of the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic), is offering graduates an opportunity to join its Information Technology Internship Programme 2025 / 2026. This initiative is designed to provide unemployed South African graduates with valuable workplace exposure while supporting youth development and skills training.

Interns will be based at the CIPC Sunnyside Office in Pretoria for a 24-month period.

What the Internship Programme Offers

The internship is part of a public service graduate programme approved by Cabinet in December 2002. Its purpose is to provide unemployed graduates with:

  • Practical workplace experience.
  • An opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
  • Exposure to professional skills needed for future employment.

This makes the programme ideal for graduates who have completed their studies but have not yet had the opportunity to gain structured work experience.

Who Can Apply?

The CIPC Information Technology Internship is targeted at unemployed South African graduates who:

  • Hold a diploma or degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Quality Management.
  • Are between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.
  • Have not previously participated in any internship programme.
  • Have not yet gained formal work experience.

Applicants must also be South African citizens.

Stipend and Contract Details

Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R12,000 for the duration of the internship.

Interns will be required to sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement before commencing.
