About the Apprenticeship
RCL Foods is recruiting five Millwright Apprentices to join its Spreads Division in Boksburg. This programme runs over a 3-year fixed-term contract and reports to the Engineering Site Services Lead.
The apprenticeship is designed to build the technical competence and practical skills required to qualify as a Millwright. Apprentices will gain exposure through structured workplace learning, theoretical training, and hands-on experience to develop the ability to perform installations, repairs, and maintenance work effectively and safely.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must have:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
- N3–N6 qualification (including trade subjects)
- Age between 18 and 35 years

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Apprentices will be trained and required to:
- Perform basic maintenance tasks in their area of responsibility
- Assist with fault finding, repairs, and ensuring optimal production output
- Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance activities
- Analyse breakdowns and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in WCM (World Class Manufacturing) and RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) engineering plans
- Use problem-solving tools such as Fishbone and 5 Why to investigate engineering losses
- Adhere to company safety rules and comply with Unilever safety and 5S standards
- Support the development of other staff by sharing knowledge and skills using OPLs and SOPs
