DHET Graduate Internship & Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme 2025/2026
The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) is calling on unemployed South African graduates to apply for its Graduate Internship and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme for 2025–2027. This opportunity is designed to equip young professionals with practical experience while contributing to the development of the higher education sector.

Programme Overview
- Contract Period: 24 months (fixed-term)
- Stipend:
- Graduate Interns: R7 860.40 per month
- WIL Students: R6 659.40 per month
- Eligibility: Open to South African citizens who are unemployed, meet academic requirements, and have not previously served as Graduate Interns or contract workers in Public Service.

Minimum Requirements
- A relevant National Diploma, Degree, or N6 certificate in the listed fields.
- Applicants must be unemployed and have never previously participated in a Graduate Internship or contract position in Public Service.
- SAQA evaluation required for foreign qualifications.
- Willingness to undergo verification checks (qualifications, citizenship, security, and references).
