Process Controller for Water Treatment x2 Posts at Rand Water
Rand Water is currently looking for the Process Controllers that will be responsible for the effective and efficient operations of the water treatment processes and to correctly operate the plant equipment, to meet the legislative requirement such as SANS241 and Blue drop certification.
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12/NQF level 4/ N3 in Water and Wastewater Treatment
• Eligible to be classified as a Class III Process Controller
• 1- 3 years’ relevant experience in water purification
• Required to work shifts.
• Physically fit, able to work in noisy, elevated and confined areas.
Primary Duties
• Operating of pressured filters and flocculation tanks to ensure good sludge handling
• Recording all malfunctions and process related defects in the logbook to ensure equipment is
repaired timeously
• Taking readings of flow, online meters, pumps and chlorine residuals
• Ensure correct chemical dosing regime
• Performing of residual chlorine test to ensure that the correct dosing rate and disinfection is
effective
• Assist in collecting of samples in the works for compliance and operational purposes
• Perform backwashing of filters as per operational requirements
• Maintaining a safe housekeeping environment.
