Impala Platinum Refineries (Implats) in Springs, Gauteng is inviting unemployed South African students to apply for the P1 & P2 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme in Chemical Engineering for 2026. Learnership Overview
- Positions Available: 7 × P1 & P2 Chemical Engineering Learners
- Department: Human Resources / Training and Development
- Duration: 12 months practical work experience
- Location: Springs, Gauteng, South Africa
- Commencement: January 2026
This programme is designed to provide hands-on exposure to chemical engineering operations at one of South Africa’s leading platinum refineries. Participants will work closely with mentors and coaches, gaining valuable industry experience in line with their academic requirements.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Impala Platinum Learnership 2026, applicants must:
- Have completed all theoretical modules of a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering
- Possess a good understanding of basic chemical engineering concepts
- Be medically fit for BMR and/or PMR
This ensures learners are ready to handle practical tasks safely and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities
Learners will:
- Perform duties assigned by mentors and coaches according to the training institution’s requirements
- Gain hands-on experience in various chemical engineering disciplines at Impala Platinum Refineries
- Develop practical skills that complement theoretical knowledge from your National Diploma
