About the Position
SARS is seeking a skilled, service-oriented, self-motivated, results-driven, and customer-focused Junior Accountant with unquestionable integrity. The successful candidate will provide administrative and financial business support to all stakeholders, with responsibilities including fleet management, asset management, and travel management, supplier relationship management (SRM), cash management.
Job Purpose
To offer administrative, logic and financial business support in the day-today transactional advising and ensuring compliance creating awareness of risks and other logistics support in order to ensure accurate accounting transactions and compliance.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualification & Experience Required
- Relevant Higher Certificate (NQF5) in Finance AND 2 years’ experience in a Finance environment.
Alternative:
- Senior Certificate (NQF 4) AND 3 years related Finance experience.
Job Outputs:
Process
- Communication and transactional outputs and queries in area of work according to policies and area of requirements.
- Contributes to the development and improvement of specific area standards, procedures and processes to ensure continued quality and service improvement.
- Deliver on contracted performance objectives and escalate unresolved delivery and quality issues to management and process owners.
- Draw on own knowledge and experience to identify and develop solutions that leads to improved service delivery and quality.
- Effectively plan and schedule own activities to continuously improve quality and service delivery in area of work.
- Report on transactional and activities within set guidelines to provide timeously information for decision-making.
- Capture and process procurement requests for business unit being supported.
- Responsible for managing petty cash through cash withdrawals, replenish and issuing, capturing of transactions, receiving change and applicable documents.
- Accurate reconciliation of all petty cash expenses, documentation and information.
- Receive payments and issuing receipts.
- Ensure that goods received tallies and matches purchase order information.
- Offer fleet management support to business through the allocation, monitoring, maintenance and reporting on vehicles.
- Provide assistance and inputs in the process of vehicles registration and administration of traffic fines.
- Facilitate vehicle maintenance through coordinating all delivering vehicles to service providers.
- Offer travel management administration service through correctness and completeness of travel request information, documentation and the processing thereof including acquittals.
- Offer asset management support verification, assistance to audit (internal and external) logging call and preparation of documentation.
- Facilitate and/or coordinate the end-to end asset disposal process through identification, documentation admin (all required documents are completed and correct), interaction with stakeholders, follow up on asset management and removal of assets.
