This initiative offers unemployed youth a chance to gain practical work experience, build employable skills, and access entry-level opportunities across different departments of the firm.
About the YES Programme
The YES Programme is a national initiative designed to tackle youth unemployment by offering 12-month fixed-term work placements. It provides unemployed individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 with structured workplace exposure, professional skills, and improved employability for future career opportunities.

Programme Details
- Start Date: January 2026
- Duration: 12 months
- Remuneration: In line with the gazetted minimum wage and YES Programme guidelines
Important Note: This opportunity is not suitable for individuals pursuing a Candidate Attorney role or those currently in their third or fourth year of LLB studies.

Successful applicants will be placed in one of the following entry-level roles:
- Admin Assistant
- Archiving Clerk
- FICA Assistant
- Front Office Assistant
- Kitchen Assistant
- Librarian
- Garden and Maintenance Assistant
- Messenger (Code 8 Driver’s Licence compulsory)
Requirements
To be considered for the Garlicke & Bousfield YES Programme 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be currently unemployed
- Must not have previously participated in the YES Programme
- Must reside in or around Durban and be able to commute to Umhlanga daily
- Must be aged between 18 and 35 (Applicants turning 36 in 2026 will not qualify)
- Must hold a valid Matric Certificate
- Must consent to a police clearance and credit check
