Job Purpose

  • To provide a complete secretarial and support service to the Deputy City Manager

Key Tasks

  • Performs fast and accurate typing duties, co-ordinates, and controls incoming mail, undertakes routine correspondence duties and directs and controls telephone calls.
  • Compiles and distributes agendas, takes minutes and attends relevant meetings.
  • Maintains a confidential filing system as well as maintains and updates relevant Policy and Procedural records.
  • Receives staff and public, including Councillors and other dignitaries.
  • Provides an efficient administrative service to the Deputy City Manager.
  • Examines minutes of previous meetings to ensure that directives have been complied with and undertakes follow up works arising therefrom.
  • Manages the Office of the Deputy City Manager in his/her absence

Essential Requirements

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent and an Administrative certificate.
  • 3 Years relevant experience.
  • Computer Literacy

Preferred Requirements

  • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Secretarial studies or Administration.
  • 4 Years relevant experience
