Job Purpose
- To provide a complete secretarial and support service to the Deputy City Manager
Key Tasks
- Performs fast and accurate typing duties, co-ordinates, and controls incoming mail, undertakes routine correspondence duties and directs and controls telephone calls.
- Compiles and distributes agendas, takes minutes and attends relevant meetings.
- Maintains a confidential filing system as well as maintains and updates relevant Policy and Procedural records.
- Receives staff and public, including Councillors and other dignitaries.
- Provides an efficient administrative service to the Deputy City Manager.
- Examines minutes of previous meetings to ensure that directives have been complied with and undertakes follow up works arising therefrom.
- Manages the Office of the Deputy City Manager in his/her absence
Essential Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent and an Administrative certificate.
- 3 Years relevant experience.
- Computer Literacy
Preferred Requirements
- Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Secretarial studies or Administration.
- 4 Years relevant experience
