Requirements
- Matric (Senior Certificate)
- 0- 1 year experience
- Proven experience within pump stations/sewer environment
- A valid Driver’s licence would be advantageous
- Required to work in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and able-bodied
Key Performance Areas
- Required to work in hazardous environment and in confined spaces.
- Check the operation of the pumps and ancillary equipment in the pump stations
- Record hour meter readings of all pumps and ancillary equipment
- Record flow meter readings
- Investigating any abnormal pump station conditions report to the Senior Pump Station Operator
- Assist in the cleaning of wet wells and removal of sand, debris and fat build up form sumps procedure
- Check and monitor the atmosphere in the dry and wet wells prior to entry
- Complete work orders and submit for capturing
- Issue permits to relevant role players to access pump station sites
- Perform perimeter checks and general housekeeping at the pump stations
- Ensure security and cleanliness of stations inside as well as grounds and surroundings, buildings, fences, gates, etc
