The Royal Bafokeng Holdings (RBH) invites young people from the Royal Bafokeng Nation to apply for the RBH CA Bursary Programme for the 2027 academic year. This opportunity is for first year students who want to become Chartered Accountants.
About the RBH Bursary Fund
RBH offers academic tertiary funding through its CA Bursary Fund. The funding is available for studies at accredited public universities in South Africa. The sole shareholder of RBH is the Royal Bafokeng Nation Development Trust. RBH works to grow the wealth of the Royal Bafokeng Nation, a community of 29 villages in the Rustenburg valley.
Who Can Apply
This bursary is only open to students who want to become a Chartered Accountant. You must meet all the following entry requirements to be considered.
Basic Eligibility
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You must be an unemployed youth from the Royal Bafokeng Nation.
- You must be a first year student in 2027.
- You must not receive any other bursary in 2027. This includes NSFAS.
Academic Requirements
- You must have been accepted to study Accounting Sciences in the Chartered Accountant stream. The university must be a SAICA recognised public South African university.
- You must have these minimum results in your final school exams:
- Mathematics: Level 5 or higher. Learners with Maths Literacy or Technical Maths are not considered.
- English: Level 5 or higher.
- Accounting: Level 5 or higher.
Documents You Need to Upload
Prepare clear certified copies of these documents. The certification must not be older than three months.
- Certified South African ID.
- Proof of residence. This is the Lekwalo la Kgosana, not older than three months.
- Your Grade 11 results together with your Grade 12 Term 1 to Term 3 results.
- Proof of provisional or official university acceptance.
- Your certified Matric certificate must be made available when results are published.
Application Closing Date
The deadline for all applications is 31 July 2026 at 11:59 pm. Make sure you submit your application on or before this date.
What to Expect After Applying
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly. If you do not receive any communication by 31 August 2026, you should consider your application unsuccessful. RBH will not provide further feedback after this date.
