The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) is calling on unemployed graduates to apply for the Design and Construction Internship Programme 2025. This internship is a great opportunity for young professionals to gain practical experience in project management and civil engineering while working with one of South Africa’s leading infrastructure organisations.

Internship Locations and Available Positions
Successful applicants will be placed at SANRAL’s provincial offices across the country. Placement will take proximity of applicants into account.
- Gauteng Provincial Office – 38 Ida Street, Menlo Park, Pretoria (3 positions)
- Eastern Cape Provincial Office – 20 Shoreward Drive, Baywest, Port Elizabeth (1 position)
- Eastern Cape Provincial Office – Ndwendwe Lodge, Flagstaff (1 position)
- KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Office – 58 van Eck Place, Mkondeni, Pietermaritzburg (2 positions)
Internship Overview

This internship is designed to equip graduates with professional skills in project administration and stakeholder management, while contributing to SANRAL’s business objectives.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the SANRAL Design and Construction Internship Programme 2025, applicants must:
- Hold a National Diploma in Project Management and/or Civil Engineering
- Be a graduate with no prior work experience
- Not have participated in any other internship programme
- Reside close to the relevant SANRAL Provincial Office
Key Responsibilities
Interns will provide valuable support to SANRAL’s Engineering Team. Duties include:
- Offering administrative support for multiple projects
- Attending project meetings and preparing accurate minutes
- Assisting Project Managers with tender documents and draft presentations
- Supporting SCM with technical inputs for Addenda
- Uploading and managing documentation on SANRAL’s EDMS/OpenText system
- Ensuring compliance with audit requirements
- Preparing correspondence, agendas, and reports
- Coordinating travel arrangements for Project Managers
- Gaining a strong understanding of SANRAL’s operations
