Role
The security Advisor responsibility is to ensure that country security strategy is developed, implemented, monitored and reviewed; consistently with Oxfam policies, standards and requirements
What we are looking for
- Large Experience successful on security issues, planning and implementation of procedures in the context of humanitarian operations of the United Nations or NGO system.
- Skills proven in negotiation and influence internal and external audiences, including in difficult circumstances and under pressure.
- Good Knowledges of West Africa context and Mali security context in particular.
- Ability to advise and assist staff in a consultative approach.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, as well as an ability to keep his cool in all circumstances and do not lose sight of the strategic priorities.
- Ability to be efficient and organized.
- Perfect understanding of the importance of the gender matter in security and in humanitarian work and development.
- An understanding of cultural differences and an ability to work in very diverse cultural contexts.
- Perfect knowledge of the written and oral French and English are essential.
Desirable
- Be in agreement with the objectives of Oxfam.
- Knowledge of NGO programming in development and emergencies;
- Knowledge or experience of Oxfam’s programme works an advantage;
- Ability to work under intense pressure;
