SHERQ Internship Programme at RCL Foods

RCL Foods is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a SHERQ Intern. This role is based at Piemans in Krugersdorp. The successful candidate must require work experience in order to graduate.

Minimum Requirements

  • Studying towards Safety Management and/or Environmental Health NQF (6 or 7) and relevant SHERQ qualifications.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good ability to handle stressful situations and deal with multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of SHE related legal requirementsincluding OSH Act
  • Be willing to work shifts

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Capture and manage non-conformances, corrective action requests, internal audits, incident management and change control, data management, and integrity.
  • Auditing of daily check sheets, record documentation, and reports.
  • Assisting with documentation, records, and files of both internal and external audits.
  • Arrange follow-up audits with relevant managers
  • Verifies audit findings are actioned and closed effectively
  • Ensure that fire prevention and emergency procedures are identified and implemented.
  • Ensure that a site contingency plan is in place.
  • Conduct workplace and job-specific hazard analysis to identify potential SH&E hazards, determine the risks associated with these hazardsand develop and implement appropriate risk control measures
  • Conduct internal SH&E audits, participate in external auditsand make recommendation to management in terms of SH&E legal and other requirements
  • Identify SHE and any risk training requirements and work with the HR Development team to ensure that required training is scheduled.
  • Ensure proper administration of the incident reporting and investigation system, legal documents, and registers.
  • Conduct generic SHERQ training and in-house coaching on SHERQ aspects.
  • Assist with and carry out incident investigations as required.
  • Assist the SHERQ Department with updating SHERQ systems, lists, and files.
  • Attend all related on-site safety meetings.
  • Liaise between the SHERQ department, clinic, and plant regarding related work.
  • All other safety-related work.
  • Assist with the development of all types of risk assessments
