Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) Internships 2025

The Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) is inviting applications from unemployed graduates under the age of 35 for its Young Graduate Internship Programme 2025. This is a 24-month fixed-term contract designed to provide practical, hands-on workplace experience and prepare young professionals with the skills needed to grow their careers.

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
Duration: 24 Months (Fixed-Term Contract)
Stipend: R11,172.49 per month

Available Internship Positions

1. Supply Chain Management Intern (1 Post)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contract management and compliance (PFMA, PPPFA, BBBEE)
  • Tender evaluations (RFQ, RFP, RFB)
  • Purchase order processing, contract tracking and administrative support

Minimum Qualification:

  • National Diploma (NQF 6) in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Purchasing Management
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in the above fields will be an advantage

2. Sector Development & Transformation Intern (1 Post)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Sector Development and Transformation projects
  • Assisting with policy frameworks related to social housing

Minimum Qualification:

  • National Diploma (NQF 6) or Degree (NQF 7) in Built Environment or Business Management

3. Legal Intern (2 Posts)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with litigation, legal research and evidence gathering
  • Drafting contracts, letters, and legal correspondence
  • Supporting legal education and compliance processes

Minimum Qualification:

  • LLB Degree or equivalent

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the SHRA Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen under the age of 35
  • Be an unemployed graduate from a University or University of Technology
  • Hold the relevant qualification for the position applied for
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, ability to work in a team, and proficiency in MS Office
