Takealot Marketing Graduate Programme (TFS) 2026: Launch Your Marketing Career in Cape Town

If you have a marketing degree and you are ready to stop theorising and start doing, this opportunity was made for you. Takealot Group, South Africa’s leading online retail and delivery organisation, is looking for a Marketing Graduate to join its Takealot Fulfillment Solutions (TFS) team in Cape Town. This is a 12-month contract position that places you right inside one of the most exciting and fast-moving companies on the African continent.

The Takealot Marketing Graduate programme is not a passive learning exercise. It is a high-energy, hands-on role where you contribute to real campaigns, work with real data, and build real skills from day one.

About the Takealot Group Graduate Programme

The Graduate Programme at Takealot Group is structured to give young professionals practical exposure across all businesses within the group, namely takealot.com, TFS, and the popular food delivery platform Mr D. As a graduate, your experience will not be siloed into one department or one way of thinking. You will get a broad view of how a large-scale e-commerce and logistics operation actually runs.

The programme is built around three core pillars:

  • Scale: With over 2.5 million happy shoppers using the platform, the work you do reaches a massive audience. You will see the direct impact of your contribution.
  • Learn: You will work alongside some of the strongest professionals South Africa has to offer, gaining skills at a pace that few other environments can match.
  • Grow: Takealot actively promotes from within. This graduate role is not just a 12-month contract. It is a launchpad.

Every selected graduate gains unique insights into the e-commerce environment, with practical exposure to a broad range of skills through both technical and soft skills training programmes.

What the Role Involves

As a Takealot Marketing Graduate within the TFS division, your responsibilities will be varied and meaningful. You will not be waiting for work to come to you. You will be in the middle of it. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in executing marketing campaigns and strategies, including coordinating schedules and working with vendors and suppliers
  • Deploying promotional materials such as brochures, mailers, newsletters, and branded content
  • Monitoring social media, website performance, and SEO metrics
  • Managing community engagement across digital platforms
  • Developing engaging content for various channels while maintaining brand alignment
  • Conducting research, gathering audience feedback, and analysing data to report on campaign performance
  • Handling leads data, liaising with agencies and internal stakeholders, and providing administrative support to the team

This is a role where no two days look exactly the same, and that is part of what makes it such a strong foundation for a long-term marketing career.

What Takealot Is Looking For

To be considered for the Takealot Marketing Graduate role, you will need a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or an equivalent qualification. A qualification in Logistics will be an added advantage, given the TFS focus of this particular position.

Beyond your academic background, Takealot is looking for a specific kind of person. The skills and attributes they value most include:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Creativity in developing content, ideas, and marketing concepts
  • A basic understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms such as social media channels, Google Analytics, and email marketing tools
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to interpret consumer insights
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • A collaborative attitude with the energy to contribute, not just observe
  • The confidence to have an opinion and voice it
  • A problem-solving mindset and a hands-on approach to work

If you recognise yourself in that list, you are exactly the kind of candidate this programme is designed for.

Why This Opportunity Is Worth Your Attention

South Africa has a well-documented youth unemployment challenge, and finding a graduate role that offers genuine skills development rather than just a line on your CV is harder than it should be. The Takealot Marketing Graduate programme is different for a few concrete reasons.

First, the training is structured. The programme includes a variety of technical and soft skills courses, meaning your development is not left to chance. You are not simply thrown into the deep end without support.

Second, the people around you are exceptional. Takealot Group employs professionals with experience across a multitude of industries, and as a graduate, you sit alongside them and learn from their daily decision-making. That kind of exposure is difficult to put a price on.

Third, the environment rewards initiative. Takealot describes itself as a company that is short on ego and high on output. If you come in ready to work hard, take ownership, and contribute ideas, you will be noticed and recognised for it.

How to Apply

Because Takealot does not always advertise fixed closing dates, it is important to apply as soon as possible. Positions close when filled, and this kind of opportunity attracts a high volume of applicants.

When you apply, make sure your CV is updated and speaks directly to your marketing background. A strong cover letter that explains why you are drawn to the TFS division specifically will help you stand out in a competitive field.

Your Career Starts Somewhere. Make It Here.

The Takealot Marketing Graduate programme gives you more than work experience. It gives you a professional foundation built inside one of Africa’s most recognised digital companies. If you are a marketing graduate who is hungry to learn, willing to work hard, and ready to contribute from day one, this is the opportunity you have been looking for.
