THE UN YPP 2020 APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN

Deadline: 31 October 2020 (closes at 11:59 PM New York time).

Brief Description

The UN YPP is an annual recruitment initiative aimed at attracting highly qualified young professionals who are willing to start a career in the United Nations. It consists of three stages: application, written examination and interview. Successful candidates who pass all three stages become staff members of the United Nations Secretariat.
In 2020, the UN YPP program is offered in three areas:
-Political Affairs & Human Rights
-Management & Administration
-Global Communications

REQUIREMENTS:
✓ Have the nationality of a participating country
✓ Hold at least a first-level university degree relevant for the exam area you are applying for
✓ Be 32 or younger by the end of the examination year
✓ Be fluent in either English or French

HOW ARE THE APPLICATIONS SCREENED?
The official statistics proves that the UN YPP program is highly competitive: it receives over 15000 applications annually, and only the top 60 candidates from each county are invited to sit the written exam in each area.

To be among the selected applicants, you should demonstrate that your academic and professional profile is a good match with the requirements and responsibilities of the UN YPP 2020. The screening is performed by a special software system, which automatically filters and ranks candidates based on the dropdown list selections and the keywords in the description of your past professional experience and your cover letter.
