Position: Online Teaching Assistants (Independent Contractor)
- Location: Online, for South African residents only
- Module: SUS1501 – Sustainability and Greed
Key Details:
- Contract: Independent, up to five months per semester
- Work Schedule: Minimum of 20 hours per week, flexible scheduling over most days
- Remuneration: R18,060.80 per month, payable upon activation as a Teaching Assistant (TA)
Role Description:
This role supports UNISA’s online students through engagement, grading, and academic guidance. TAs assist with teaching tasks for a signature module focusing on sustainability, ethics, and corporate responsibility.

Responsibilities:
- Online Student Interaction: Facilitate online discussions, address queries, and provide guidance.
- Content Familiarity: Review and provide feedback on course content and assessments.
- Mentorship: Help train new TAs and contribute ideas for content improvement.
- Assessment and Feedback: Grade assignments, offer personalized feedback, and attend marking meetings.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle tasks like marking spreadsheets and high-risk student reports.
Requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree with coursework in moral philosophy, ethics, sustainable development, or corporate social responsibility.
- Skills: Advanced computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.
- Infrastructure: Own internet-connected computer and relevant software, as no hardware or software will be provided.
- Attributes: Strong communication skills, English proficiency, and a passion for student-centered learning.

Additional Information:
