You must apply for admission if you are:
- A first-time UNISA applicant
- A current UNISA student wanting to switch to a new SLP

Application & Registration Dates
Applications are now open for the 2026 academic year. Early applications are encouraged as spaces are limited.
Before You Apply – Key Requirements
Before starting your application, ensure that:
- You have a valid email address and cellphone number (UNISA will communicate through these during the process).
- You are aware that only one email and one cellphone number can be used for your application.
- You can scan and upload all required documents in the correct format and size.
Required Supporting Documents
You will need to upload the following:
- Certified copy of your school qualifications (e.g., NSC)
- Certified copy of tertiary academic records (if applicable) – internet copies not accepted
- Certified copy of your RSA ID (or passport for international students)
- Certified copy of marriage certificate or divorce decree (if applicable)
- Sworn translations if documents are not in English or Afrikaans
- Any additional documents required for your specific programme
File requirements:
- Format: PDF, DOC, or TIF
- Size: Max 2MB per file
- Only black and white documents allowed
How to Apply for a UNISA Short Learning Programme
- Visit the UNISA Centre for Lifelong Learning website: UNISA Centre
- Complete the online application form for your chosen SLP.
- Upload all required documents before the closing date.
- Submit your application and keep a copy of your confirmation email.
After You Apply
- UNISA will assess your application and notify you of the outcome.
- If successful, you will receive a “Temporarily Registered” (TP) letter via email and SMS.
- The TP letter will include payment instructions to finalise your registration.
