Westcol TVET College is calling on unemployed, qualifying former students to apply for Tutoring Positions in 2025. Successful candidates will provide academic support to learners across different campuses, helping to improve student performance and strengthen subject understanding.
- Closing Date: 01 September 2025
- Location: Randfontein and other Westcol TVET College campuses, Gauteng
- Stipend/Remuneration: R150 per session (1 hour)
Minimum Requirements
Report 191 Engineering (REF: TUT/RFT/20/03/2025)
- N3 – All subjects with a 65% average (x2 positions)
- N4 – Engineering Science & Mechanotechnics, 65% average (x1 position)
- N5 – Fluid Mechanics & Strength of Materials, 50% average (x1 position)
- N6 – Fluid Mechanics & Strength of Materials, 50% average (x1 position)
National Certificate Vocational (REF: TUT/RFT/20/03/2025)
- Passed all subjects with a 65% average
- Fundamentals: Mathematics (x2), Mathematical Literacy (x1), English FAL (x1)
- Engineering Related Design (ERD): (x1)
- Welding: (x1)
- Automotive: (x1)
- Office Administration: Office Data Processing (x2)
Report 191 Business Studies (REF: TUT/RFT/20/03/2025, TUTKC/20/03/2025, TUT/CVILLE20/03/2025)
- Must have passed all subjects with a 70% average
- N4: Computer Practice or Information Processing (x3 positions)
- N5: Computer Practice or Information Processing (x3 positions)
- N6: Computer Practice or Information Processing (x3 positions)
Skills Required
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions
- Teamwork and facilitation skills
- Computer literacy relevant to the subject area
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide academic support with assignments, projects, ISATs, tests, and research tasks
- Explain key subject concepts and guide students in best academic practices
- Collaborate closely with lecturers and mentor lecturers
- Prepare and maintain tutoring files and student attendance registers
- Monitor student progress and apply intervention strategies when needed
- Give constructive feedback to both lecturers and students
- Maintain confidentiality of student records
