About the Internship

The Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) has opened applications for its Internship Programme 2025 under the Rural Roads Asset Management Systems (RRAMS) initiative. This programme is aimed at empowering unemployed graduates who reside within the municipality’s jurisdiction, giving them valuable workplace exposure while contributing to the development of local road infrastructure projects.

The internship offers five (05) placements for a duration of two years, with each intern receiving a monthly stipend of R8,000.00. Successful candidates will be based at the municipality’s Head Office in Komani (Queenstown).

Internship Requirements

  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Age between 18 and 35 years.
  • Knowledge of GIS applications, transport systems, and road network classification.
  • Must be a resident of Chris Hani District Municipality (proof of residence required, signed and stamped by a Ward Councillor or traditional leader).
  • Applicants who have previously participated in an internship programme in any government institution are not eligible.
  • Must be medically fit and available for assessments as required by CHDM.
