    Canyon Coal Khanye Colliery Internship 2026

    Canyon Coal (Pty) Ltd has opened applications for its Khanye Colliery Internship Programme 2026, offering young South African graduates an opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience in the mining industry. The two-year internship is designed to equip graduates with practical engineering skills while working alongside experienced professionals at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng.

    The programme forms part of Canyon Coal’s commitment to developing local talent and creating employment opportunities for young professionals entering the mining sector.

    Internship Opportunities

    The 2026 intake is available in the following engineering disciplines:

    • Mechanical Engineering – 1 position
    • Electrical Engineering – 2 positions

    Successful candidates will participate in a structured internship programme that combines practical workplace training with professional mentorship to prepare them for careers in the mining industry.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID.
    • Be between 18 and 35 years of age.
    • Have successfully completed Matric (Grade 12).
    • Hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, depending on the position applied for.
    • Be medically fit for duty.

    Preference Will Be Given To

    Canyon Coal has indicated that preference will be given to:

    • Applicants residing in the Bronkhorstspruit area.
    • Women and persons with disabilities, in line with the company’s Employment Equity commitments.

    Required Documents

    Applicants should prepare the following certified documents before submitting their applications:

    • Proof of residence.
    • Certified copy of South African ID.
    • Certified copy of Matric certificate or results.
    • Certified copies of tertiary academic records.
    • Certified copy of qualifications.
    • Completed Canyon Coal internship application form.

    Application Closing Date

    The closing date for applications is:

    25 February 2026 (Close of Business).

    Applicants who do not receive any communication from Canyon Coal within 14 days after the closing date should consider their application unsuccessful.
