GIZ Internship: Intern in the field of Global Health ) Hospital Partnerships – Focus on Organizational Development and M&E)
The global project “Hospital Partnerships – Strengthening Health Partnerships,” a funding program of the German Federal Government, supports a worldwide community of over 650 hospital partnerships in nearly 80 countries, strengthening healthcare systems in low- and middle-income countries.
Currently, the program is supporting the development of a multilateral successor organization – the Hospital Partnerships Alliance (HPA) – to further develop the concept of the German funding program at the international level.
During this exciting transformation phase, you will become part of an agile, ambitious team and, as an intern, support the establishment of the HPA. Your responsibilities will include communicating with stakeholders, participating in the implementation of new software, and assisting with event preparation. At the same time, you will gain practical experience in data collection and impact measurement for hospital partnerships and be in direct contact with key players in global healthcare.
Tasks
During your internship, you can expect to perform the following tasks, among others:
- They communicate with the full spectrum of international stakeholders in the hospital partnerships (female doctors, entrepreneurs, nurses, researchers, etc.) to mobilize them for the multilateral successor organization.
- They are involved in the introduction and further development of digital tools and software solutions for the HPA organization.
- They support the content-related and logistical preparation, execution and follow-up of events.
- They analyze data, prepare results, and help to make the impact of international hospital partnerships visible.
- They support the team with administrative processes.
- They research and work on current health policy issues (e.g., antimicrobial resistance, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender, digital health, nursing, health workforce, global mental health)
Requirements and Qualifications
- From the fourth semester onwards, they study in the fields of health sciences, political science, social sciences, nursing science or medicine.
- You are interested in global health, medicine, international cooperation and civil society engagement, strengthening health systems in partner countries and training medical personnel; initial practical experience in this field is an advantage.
- They have a strong understanding of data and research methods (qualitative and quantitative) as well as experience in using software for collecting, analyzing and visualizing data.
- You have German language skills at least at level C1 and very good English language skills. Knowledge of another foreign language is an advantage.
- You have at least good knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PPP, MS Teams) and experience using AI tools.
- They are dedicated, work proactively, and possess organizational talent.
- Careful communication, a confident demeanor, respectful behavior, and a good tone within the team and with partners in Germany and abroad are a matter of course for you
