KZN Provincial Treasury In-Service Training Programme 2026: Opportunity for TVET Students With Disabilities

KZN Provincial Treasury In-Service Training Programme 2026: Opportunity for TVET Students With Disabilities

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Treasury has opened applications for its In-Service Training Programme, a structured, work-based experiential learning opportunity designed for KZN students studying at TVET colleges. The programme places a strong focus on students with disabilities, in line with the Department’s Employment Equity Plan, and offers practical workplace experience in Office Management and Financial Management.

If you are a TVET student in KwaZulu-Natal who needs to complete in-service training to finish your N6 qualification, this guide covers everything you need to know about eligibility, duration, and how to apply.

What Is the KZN Treasury In-Service Training Programme?

This programme gives KZN TVET students a structured, work-based approach to experiential learning connected to their field of study. Participants gain real, hands-on competencies in Office Management and Financial Management by working directly within the Provincial Treasury’s Directorate of Human Resources.

The programme places particular emphasis on inclusion. In terms of the Department’s Employment Equity Plan, a greater percentage of students with disabilities will be taken into the programme, and students with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

Before applying, check that you meet every one of the following requirements, since incomplete applications or those from ineligible candidates will not be considered:

  • You must not have participated in any in-service training programme previously (this is subject to verification)
  • You must be prepared to relocate to Pietermaritzburg at your own cost
  • You must be computer literate
  • You must be prepared to undergo a selection process
  • You must be in possession of an N4, N5, and N6 certificate in either Office Management or Financial Management
  • You must be a KZN student from a TVET college, aged 18 and above, with permanent residency in KwaZulu-Natal and enrolled at an academic institution in KwaZulu-Natal

Meeting the field of study requirement is essential. This programme is only open to students who hold N4 to N6 certification specifically in Office Management or Financial Management, so applicants from unrelated fields will not qualify.

Programme Duration

The In-Service Training Programme runs for a maximum of 18 months. Selected applicants will be required to enter into a formal contract with the Department, with the programme running from 1 March 2027 to 31 August 2028.

This extended runway gives participants enough time to build genuine workplace competency in their field while completing the practical component required for their qualification.
