Programme Details
• Programme Duration: 6 Months
• Stipend: R2,000 per month
• Learning Model: Blended Learning (2 days online learning and 3 days of practical in-store training per week)
• Location: Various Pick n Pay Stores
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Unemployed South African youth aged 18–40 years
- Passion for baking, food preparation, and customer service
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to completing the programme
- Able to work flexible retail hours, including weekends and public holidays where required

What You’ll Learn

Key Responsibilities
- Attend and complete all online learning modules and assessments.
- Attend 2 days of online learning and 3 days of practical in-store training each week.
- Assist with bakery production and food preparation under the guidance of experienced bakery teams.
- Prepare, package, and present bakery products according to Pick n Pay standards.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Support merchandising and stock replenishment within the bakery department.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
- Work collaboratively as part of the bakery and store team.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a positive attitude throughout the programme
