The City of Johannesburg is inviting qualifying students from Johannesburg communities to apply for its Food Value Chain Internship 2026 within the Social Development Department.

About the Food Value Chain Internship
The position is located within the Food Resilience Unit of the City of Johannesburg’s Social Development Department.
The successful intern will gain exposure to different parts of the food value chain, including agricultural value-adding, food processing, food quality and food safety.
The role also involves supporting farmers as they move from primary agricultural production towards processed and value-added products.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4.
- A Degree or Diploma in Agriculture Studies, Development Studies or an equivalent qualification.
- A qualification completed with a minimum of 360 credits.
- Must be a resident of the City of Johannesburg.
