Sanlam is Seeking a Human Capital Graduate: Cape Town, Western Cape

The Group is listed on the Johannesburg, A2X and Namibian stock exchanges and is one of the largest internationally active insurance groups in the world.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Human Capital Graduate, you will get exposure to meaningful work across the employee life cycle. This is not a soft launch into the working world — you will support real work, real projects and real business priorities within a Human Capital team.

You will assist with a range of HR activities, which may include recruitment, onboarding, performance management, talent processes, research, documentation and coordination of key Human Capital initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues, contribute ideas and build your understanding of how Human Capital enables business success.

You will succeed in this role if:

  • You are curious and resourceful, and you enjoy finding information, asking good questions and learning across the employee life cycle.
  • You are comfortable conducting research on HR-related topics and using insights to support the development of workplace frameworks, tools and processes.
  • You can coordinate talent activities timeously and accurately, in line with the HR calendar and team priorities.
  • You can produce quality documentation, guidelines and presentation material using Microsoft Word or PowerPoint.
  • You manage your time well, follow through on commitments and work effectively against set timelines.
  • You communicate clearly, collaborate well and are willing to contribute in a fast-paced team environment.
  • You bring confidence, care and energy to the work you do.

Qualification and Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Psychology or a related field.
  • Relevant HR exposure, internship experience or work-integrated learning will be advantageous.
  • A genuine interest in people, talent development and the future world of work.
